Flance Early Learning Center opened in 2014 with the goal of providing quality early childhood services to children from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Flance focuses on preparing students to be kindergarten ready, especially in social and emotional development.

At the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, Flance established a unique private/public partnership with St. Louis Public Schools. The vision of this partnership is to further early childhood opportunities on the near north side of St. Louis. Through this partnership, enrollment has increased to 115 students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.

Flance offers multiple unique outlets that aid in the development of its infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Along with preparing children academically and socially, Flance has a garden project for families, students and the community that is maintained by Urban Harvest STL. Preschoolers participate in the process of growing fresh fruits and vegetables in the garden, in addition to seeing them being used in the kitchen and served on their plates.

Flance believes strongly in the power of the arts to change lives. With various partners throughout St. Louis, and even reaching in to Edwardsville, the children have many opportunities to experience arts enrichment. Some of the partners include: COCA, Circus Harmony, Metro Theater and SIUE, just to name a few.

Another key partner is Ready Readers. Ready Readers sends volunteers to all the classrooms as an important part of Flance’s early literacy program. The infant rooms are included in this program, because it’s never too early to spark a child’s interest in reading.
